Admin Privileges

This guide requires a user who is both an admin of your Google Workspace, as well as an admin of Vendr.

Setup

The first part of the setup will happen in your Google Admin console, while the second will happen inside your Vendr account.

Part 1a - Google Admin Console Setup

  1. In the Admin console, go to Menu > Apps > Web and mobile apps.

  2. Click Add App > Add custom SAML app.

  3. On the App Details page, enter the name of the custom app.

  4. Click Continue.

  5. On the Google Identity Provider details page, click "Download Metadata" to download the XML file. Save this, you'll need it later. (Ignore "Option 2".)

  6. Click Continue.

  7. In the Service Provider Details window, enter:

    1. Entity ID: urn:amazon:cognito:sp:us-east-1_ZT4DHbbKd

    2. Name ID Format: select "ENTITY" from the dropdown list

    3. Name ID: select "Basic Information > Primary email"

  8. Click Continue.

  9. On the Attribute mapping page:

    1. Under Google Directory attributes, make sure "Basic Information > Primary email" is selected.

    2. Under App attributes, enter "email".

  10. Click Finish.

Part 1b - Finish Google Admin Console Setup

  1. In the Admin console, go to Menu > Apps > Web and mobile apps.

  2. Select the SAML app you just created.

  3. In the User Access section, turn access ON for everyone (it's OFF by default).

Now it's time to go back to your Vendr account to finish the configuration.

Part 2 - Vendr Account Setup

  1. Inside your Vendr account, go to the SSO tab of the Settings page.

  2. Select GSuite SAML from the "SSO Provider" dropdown menu.

  3. Drag and drop the XML file you downloaded from Step 5 (in the Google Admin console setup section above) into the "Identity Provider XML" section.

  4. Click "Submit" (button will turn purple after you've uploaded a valid XML file).

At this point, you should be all set! If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out to Support.
